Early Childhood Education Credentialing

Bright Horizons is a publicly-traded, leading provider of child care and early education, back-up care, and workplace employee services with over 1,000 locations and 30,000 staff around the globe.

To advance their workforce, attract talent, and compete, Bright Horizons needed an updated version of their elective eCDA Program to employees. It provides the 120 hours of formal early childhood education required to gain the Child Development Associate Credential – the first step in nationally recognized Early Childhood Education credentialing.

Solution Highlights

An online, multi-modality solution for cohorts of 20 educators, synched e-learning with discussion boards, group and individual conference calls, and homework that ensured immediate transfer to the job context.

Our Challenge

Bright Horizons wanted to supplement their existing training materials with interactive learning. Their goal was to help their teachers practice skills relevant to their responsibilities without taking too much time away from the classroom. In addition, the learning experience needed to be fun and engaging, both to appeal to their learners and to highlight Bright Horizons’ company culture.

Allen Interactions and Bright Horizons collaborated to develop a 2D interactive game-based e-learning experience for their employees in child care centers. Initial efforts focus on skills related to health and safety.
